What is Arthrosamid®?
Arthrosamid® is a CE-marked medical device – a cross-linked polyacrylamide hydrogel (2.5% polyacrylamide, 97.5% water) injected directly into the knee joint under ultrasound guidance. Once injected, it integrates into the lining of the joint capsule, where it is intended to cushion and lubricate the joint, helping to reduce the pain and stiffness of osteoarthritis.
It is delivered as a single injection, with no surgery, no incisions, and typically a very short recovery. Results can vary and individual outcomes are not guaranteed.
Arthrosamid may be considered for patients who have not had lasting relief from standard treatments such as hyaluronic acid (“gel”) injections, or who are looking for an option to explore before considering surgery.
As with any medical treatment, suitability varies by individual and is assessed during consultation. Research how long they last can vary from person to person.
