Krida Harley Street offers a unique experience to their patients that enables them to have a consultation, diagnostic scan, and receive a personalised treatment plan in one visit.

We offer treatment for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries. We can see anyone aged ten years and above suffering from joint complaints and soft tissue conditions, including lower back pain.

We also see patients who present with a sports injury, such as muscle tears, stress fractures, ligament sprains, bursitis and tendinopathy.

When you arrive for a consultation, you will be welcomed into the clinic by our healthcare assistant. During your appointment, our consultant will start by performing a thorough examination of the affected body part and discussing your symptoms with you.

The examination will be followed with a diagnostic ultrasound scan that will identify any soft tissue damage, such as inflammation of a bursa, arthritis, and tears in tendons, muscles, or ligaments.

Once you have been examined, our consultant will have a clinical discussion with you about your diagnosis and the different treatment options that are available to you, including general medical advice on your lifestyle to improve the efficacy of any possible treatment.

HOW DOES THE APPOINTMENT WORK?

One of the benefits of our appointments is that for many conditions the examination and the procedure can both be carried out in one session. Typically this looks like:

Do I need a GP referral?
No, a GP referral is not necessary for you to have an ultrasound guided steroid/cortisone injection at Krida Clinic.

Can you access my previous medical history?
We cannot access any of your previous medical history. In light of this, we encourage you to bring a list of any medication that you are currently taking or regularly prescribed.

What clothing should I wear to my consultation?
We advise that you wear clothing that makes the affected joint/body area accessible to the consultant. For example, if your symptoms affect a lower limb, we would suggest wearing (or bringing) a skirt/shorts to the consultation.

Do I need to bring anyone with me?
No; if you are not having any treatment it is not necessary for you to be accompanied. However, if you are having treatment at the clinic, we do advise that you bring a close friend or family member with you to ensure that you get home safely.

Can you treat children?
We can see children aged 10 years and above for a musculoskeletal consultation and a diagnostic ultrasound scan.

How long does the consultation last?
The consultation can last between 30-40 minutes.

Do we accept private medical insurance?
Unfortunately, we do not accept any form of insurance. However, our prices are competitive with other private healthcare clinics and our services are unique; the patient will receive a thorough examination, diagnostic scan and an individualized treatment plan in one visit, without the need to pay for repeat consultation appointments.

When do I need to pay?
We accept cash, card or cheque payment on the day of the consultation.

Is there a cancellation fee?
These prices are inclusive of the ultrasound guidance and please note that the injection can be done on the same visit as the consultation, in most cases. If for any clinical reason that the specialist feels it would not be suitable for you to be treated on the same day of your consultation, or if you decide to think about it, then we will book the procedure for a more appropriate time for you.
